Like most kids growing up I ate and liked hot dogs. Then I got older and wiser and learned what was in hot dogs….and as such the appeal was no longer there (even the All Beef ones have less than desireable ingredients!!)   As it goes the kids do not really like hot dogs either.  And so when I do make them it is typically at lunch and for a special occasion.  This recipe is usually made around Halloween as I wrap the dogs up to look like mummy’s completing the look with two mustard eyes! 

The itty bitty’s can help with this one too!

Mummy Hot Dogs
 
1 can – refrigerated soft breadsticks (pillsbury works)
8 – hot dogs
1/4 cup – grated parmesan cheese
 
popsicle sticks
 
Turn oven on to 350°F. Separate dough into eight sticks; pinching ends slightly to seal. Roll or press each piece into about a 12-inch rope.
 
Insert wooden popsicle sticks into one end of each hot dog, leaving approx. 2 inches of each stick exposed. Wrap each dough rope in spiral fashion around one of the hot dogs, pressing ends of dough together to seal. Place in single layer in shallow baking pan sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with cheese.
 
Bake 15-20 min. or until hot dog is heated through and dough is golden brown.
Serve with any kind of dip you want (bbq sauce, plum sauce, mustard, ketchup) and with fresh veggies, a salad…anything to make it a complete meal!
